In Plain English
Most anti-anxiety drugs work by broadly damping the nervous system, which is why they cause drowsiness and fog. Selank appears to work more selectively — adjusting the balance of the brain’s own calming and mood chemistry rather than sedating it wholesale. The reported result is reduced anxiety while staying clear-headed, which is why it pairs well with an activating compound like Semax.
What people use it for. Anxiety, stress and mental steadiness — particularly by people who want the calming effect without feeling sedated or foggy. It is very commonly paired with Semax.
What to know before you buy. The interesting claim here is not that it works but how it is reported to work — without the tolerance, dependence or next-day fog that benzodiazepines produce. That is a meaningful distinction if it holds. The evidence is real human clinical data, but almost all of it is Russian and much of it lacks the detail Western reviewers expect. Taken through the nose; calibrate your spray.
What It's Used For
| Goal | What that rests on |
|---|---|
| Anxiety and stress | Russian clinical research in generalised anxiety and adjustment disorders |
| Calm without sedation | The distinguishing claim — anxiolytic effect reported without drowsiness, tolerance or withdrawal |
| Clearer thinking under stress | Some studies report attentional and cognitive improvement alongside anxiety reduction |
| Pairs with Semax | Complementary profiles; the most common way either is used |
The left column lists goals people commonly pursue with this compound; the right column states what that rests on. These are described uses and research findings, not proven outcomes or treatment claims. Individual results vary and no outcome is promised.
Pricing & Sizes
Vials ship sealed and lyophilized — reconstitute before use, or ask and it will be reconstituted free at the volume shown below. Nasal sprays ship ready to use, made to order with 4mL of bacteriostatic saline — the correct intranasal diluent. Bacteriostatic water is hypotonic, which is what causes the sting people report. Free shipping on every order, no minimum. Third-party COA available for every batch — HPLC purity and mass spec verification.
Reconstitution — bacteriostatic water: 10mg vial at 2mL = 5mg/mL, so 10 units on a 100-unit syringe draws 0.5mg; Nasal spray ships ready to use — 10mg in 4mL bacteriostatic saline = 2.5mg/mL. Pump actuation volume varies between bottle types (roughly 0.05-0.14mL), so calibrate your sprayer rather than assuming a per-spray dose. Concentrations are arithmetic from vial content and diluent volume, not a dosing recommendation.

Regulatory status
This compound was not on the July 2026 PCAC agenda. Its regulatory status is unchanged by that hearing, and reports about peptides being “cleared” in July 2026 do not apply to it. Treat its status as independent. Selank remains not FDA-approved and is not on the 503A bulks list. It has not been publicly confirmed as one of the five peptides queued for the expected February 2027 PCAC meeting.
What the Research Shows
Selank’s clinical record comes primarily from Russian research on generalised anxiety disorder and adjustment disorders, including studies comparing it against benzodiazepines. Reported findings centre on anxiolytic effect without the sedation, tolerance or withdrawal pattern that limits benzodiazepine use, and some work reports cognitive and attentional improvement alongside anxiety reduction.
The limitations mirror those FDA raised for Semax at the July hearing: much of the literature is published in Russian, and study reports frequently omit dosing, route and design detail that Western review expects. This is real human clinical data, but it is not equivalent to a Western randomised controlled trial and should not be presented as one.
Mechanistic notes
Beyond GABAergic and serotonergic modulation, Selank has been reported to influence BDNF expression and to slow the degradation of enkephalins, the body’s own opioid-like signalling peptides. Its tuftsin lineage also gives it documented immunomodulatory activity, which is a less discussed part of its profile.
Practical Notes
Intranasal is the route the clinical literature uses. As with Semax, calibrate your nasal pump by actuating ten sprays into a container and measuring the volume — actuation volumes vary from roughly 0.05 to 0.14mL depending on the bottle, which is a nearly threefold difference in delivered dose.
Lyophilised powder is robust; reconstituted solution is heat-sensitive and should be refrigerated. Reconstitute gently — forceful plunging causes aggregation and cloudiness.
The bottom line
One of the better-documented compounds in this range, with a distinctive and clinically meaningful claim: anxiety reduction without sedation. The evidence is real but geographically concentrated, and its US regulatory position is untouched by the July 2026 hearing.
Also in the Range
Also available paired with Semax. Selank alone is the option if you want the anxiolytic effect without the activating half.
